OVERVIEW
Kantha Vibhag Navnirman Mandal was registered under the Societies Registration Act of 1860 with Registration No.G.U.J. – 215 Surat dated 21/5/1965. It was also registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act of 1950 with the Registration Nos. F-142 Surat dated 21/5/1965.
The name ‘Navnirman’ itself symbolises the Mandal as an organisation working for the reconstruction of the society or community with the sole aims of Education and Social reforms in the Coastal area. The Headquarter of the Mandal was conveniently and unanimously chosen Bharthana (Vesu) on the outskirts of Surat. The pioneering efforts of the Mandal were restricted to social activities and community reforms.
It was in the year 1965, that some of the leading educated and progressive minded personalities of the coastal area of Choryasi Taluka of Surat District understood the fact that the economic and cultural upliftment of the society was possible only through social reforms which could be implemented by the spread of education. The beginning was modest but concrete and creative.
During the period of about three and a half decade from 1965 to 2003, the Mandal has grown and developed both financially and socio-educationally, to the extent that it has established number of Educational Institutes which are efficiently managed and operated today under the guidance of dynamic President shri Mahendrabhai R. Patel (Ex.Minister of State).
The Mandal is resourceful in terms of finances and man-power. It has about 50,000 sq.mts. of land in the Municipal Corporation’s limit in Althan and Bharthana. Looking to the speedy expansion of this area of Surat city, there are brighter chances for developing Educational Institutes of varied types and faculties to cater to the need of both urban and rural areas.
In the context of the above, the Mandal expects to successfully launch a full-fledged Education Complex wherein diversified institutes from kinder garten to post-graduate level including Information Technology, Engineering and Medicine could be introduced. |
